| I have heard that name only once before. A friend I knew in California
had a daughter by that name. She must be about 15 years old by
now. I always thought it was pretty and different. And yes, it
does seem to be true that most people are more conservative with
boys names. More worried about their business image as an adult,
maybe?

| Another female version of Daniel is the name Danielle. This was
the name of a friend of mine in High School.

| James Dobson, the well known doctor who gave us "Dare to Discipline"
named his daughter Danae (I'm not sure of the spelling).

| Just for the record, we were really taken with the name Denae
and just gave our new and third daughter the name Denae Theresa.

| Never heard of Denae, though I have heard of Danae (re .3).
She was some maiden who was impregnated by Zeus in the form
of a shower of gold, and later gave birth to Perseus. Never
could quite figure out how to pronounce it -- something like
DAN-uh-ee.
Is Denae the same thing? Where did you get the Duh-NAY
pronunciation from? Interesting that people thought this
was somehow related to Daniel.
