53.0. "Kristopher Alan" by GLORY::HULL (Stupidity & virtue are their own reward.) Sun Oct 05 1986 09:31

    Re: 52.0

Along with a girls name of Alyson, if we have a boy someday I'd
like to name him Kristopher Alan Hull. I like Germanic spelling
of many names using "K" better than anglo versions using "C".

My name is Alan Douglas. I have gone by my nickname Al for as long
as I can remember. My mother contantly tells me that if she had
known everyone would shorten my name to just "Al" instead of Alan,
she never would have named me that! doesn't bother me a bit. And
then of course there was the "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" era, with
"Uncle Al" and "Big Al". What a pain!

I like the name Alan, and like my spelling better than the french version
Allen, which is too common. Of course, everyone who doesn't know
    me misspells it...

After living with a 3-syllable name for 30+ years, I figured a longer,
multi-syllable first name for our future children would be better.

    Background info:

my side of our family originated in England way back when. Some of our
early forebears worked in the Cornish mining areas and then emmigrated
to America to southern Wisconson (Mineral Point) to work the lead mines
there. My family still makes genuine Cornish pasties (meat pies).

My mothers name is Marilyn Anne (Shouer) Hull
father is John Merle Hull (Jr, no longer used)
He hates Merle, by the way!
    brother is John David Hull

    maternal grandparents were:
                       Marion (Prideaux) Shouer
                       Homer Christian Shouer

    paternal grandparents were:
                       Marie (unk) Hull
                       John Merle Hull, Sr.

I'll have to get my wife Ruth in here sometime to enter all her
side - there's lots more on her side of our family.

    This is a fun notesfile!

    Regards,

    Alan
