30.0. "FILIPPO (PHILIP ...?)" by 49256::VACCARINO () Thu Jul 31 1986 08:26

hallo you all!! This is from Italy.

I'm Graziella a really new noter and I loved so much reading babynames
conference!!! This is the very first time that I try to write notes so
... I can't guess what will happen (by the way I suppose you'll have to be
pacient with my English).

Filippo is my 18_months_old baby's name. Really I never thought about its
meaning but I think it's greek and stands for "who_loves_horses". It looks
quite old_fashioned and more common among grandfathers rather than babies.

Also, Filippo, as you know, is a name for kings ...!

If Filippo were been a girl we thought to name her FRANCESCA BENEDETTA.
Anyone who loves italian names????

Ciao, graziella

    Benvenuto, Graziella!

Your name is lovely, and I have always liked the name Gabriela too.
I know a real person names Florence (after the city) and, as I am
a big fan of the BBC television program "Doctor Who", I have toyed
with the idea of naming a daughter "Romana"> In addition to the
obvious Latin meaning ("A Roman woman"), Romana was one (two?) of
the aforesaid Doctor's friends. A nice name in any language.

    Ciao,
    Mary

Graziella is a new name to me, so could you give some information
on it? I thinks it's a VERY pretty name. It seems to roll of of
one's tongue and has a nice ring to it.

RE: -1 I agree, the name seems to sound superb.

Is there a possibility that you could spell it phnetically for us?

Is there a meaning to it?

Welcome to BABYNAMES, I am glad that you enjoy the conference and
hope to read more about your names here. I am glad that you chose
babynames as your 'first conference'. The note came off fine.

I am Italian. My mother's maiden name is Maggio.
My name is Jonelle St. John, can you believe it??
Sounds French--YUCK!! My mother made up my first
name and the last name is my step father's. What
a way to ruin a great nationality!!

    Hello Graziella!

Just thought I would write to you and let you know that my last name
is a shorter version of yours, mine is Vaccari. I believe
my grandfather came over to America around 1910 from Sicily (not
really sure about that). His name was Donato James Vaccari, not
sure if he shortened it when he got here (which is Boston, MA). I hope
you read this, because I would love to hear from you about this.

    regards,
    Erin Vaccari - Marlboro, Massachusetts

hallo you all!!! here again after a veeery long period of absence
due to ... a new baby! she is LAURA, 10 months old.

just a comment to -6. My family name is ELIA not VACCARINO, VACCARINO
was just the account from which I accessed VAXnotes. Sorry!!!

Someone asked me for the spelling of Graziella. Quite difficult
to do it typing, I'll think on it and I'll write on a new topic.

On italian names: what about CAPRI and AUSTI? I suppose they are
names of isles or cities but really I can't stand them for babies
    don't you.
