| Just to set the record straight. This is a French name and the
meaning is rather unimpressive. It means "The girl who lives at
the court."

| I like the spelling "Courtney" better. Don't ask why...

11.3 | Courtney | GAOV08::TCOMER | | Thu May 25 1989 11:57 | 4 |
| Courtney is a very common name in Ireland. It is a surname used
here. Sometimes people have used it also as christian name.

| I really like the name, but think I would spell it Courtney. This is
one of the names I have picked out when I have children. (For a girl)

| I know a little girl named Courtney. She's pretty, smart (sometimes
TOO smart) and stubborn.
There's also actress Courtney Cox (who I really don't like, but that
doesn't detract from the name too much).
