    RONALD ...my first name

Derivative of Reginald meaning... 'MIGHTY RULER'
    Nicknames...Ron -preferred but informal
Ronnie -juvenile...only my uncle gets away with this
                Ronny -careful: feminine implications
                Ronald (with middle initial) formal

Re Ronald, *too* common. This name should be retired from usage.
There have been enough people with this name already.

My brother (age 43) is named Ronald. My mother swears that when
she named him, 43 years ago, she had never known a person named
Ronald in real life - only Ronald Coleman and Ronald Reagan, actors.

Now, forget it. Do not name your son Ronald.

    Lorna,

I don't think Ronald is that common at all! I only know 3 Ronalds
and they all live in different states! (and they don't know each
other). I guess it just depends. huh. My name is definately being
OVER USED these days. It's Christina. I know alot of ChristinE's
my age, but NO Christina's. TODAY, every other baby girt is named
CHRISTINA. I love the name, but I'm glad I was considered different
when I was in school. then we had a million Kathy's, Sandy's,
Mary's... Funny how names seem to swing around, going in and out
of style like fashion... What's in today will be out tomorrow only
    to come back again...

Funny I should see those two names together (Ronald & Christina)
My husbands names is Ronald and I am Christina. We have both
shortened our names to Ronnie & Tina. My husband says all the Ronalds
he knows are in high places. Ronald Regan, Ronnie Delaney, Ronald
    Briggs, Ronnie Drew. etc.
