962.0. "Introductory material ?" by STAR::FENSTER (Yaacov Fenster, Process Improvement, Quality & Testing tools @ZK) Sun Jan 07 1996 15:21

I searched the notesfile, but I could'nt find any "newbie" topic.
Could anyone recommend a source of information (book, WWW page,
magazine article, etc) that would give a good introduction about
investing. (IRA's, mutual funds, index funds,....)

    	Thanx in advance

Why (and how) did you get started investing?

There are also less than 1,000 topics in here, it would be worth-while
(IMHO :-) to get a directory listing and start skimming those topics
that look interesting. There is a wealth of info in this conference,
the trick is finding it :-)

There is a multitude of personal finance books available. I find
that the introductory books tend to cover the same stuff. Go to
your local library and check out one, or two, or a bunch.

The Wealthy Barber is a good read, with some intelligence and common
sense in it.
