Sybase is not meeting the Wall Street's expectations, and Goldman
Sachs has downgraded it to "market performer", as noted in today's
Wall Street Journal (WSJ). WSJ also mentioned that it was trading
at 28 1/4 in after-hours trading yesterday, and probably would open
    in that range today.

Sybase closed at $20 yesterday. Does any one have comments/opinions
    about the products of Sybase.

I don't know much about the products, but I had bought it
when it had dipped to 23, then sold quickly when it spiked
a little to 25 1/2 a few days latter. If I could get back
in at $20 I'd probably do it (but it's already rebounding from
	that low) ....

A few months ago SYBASE bought out POWERSOFT for about $900 million
where PWRS shareholders got Sybase stock. This was before Sybase stock
took a big fall! Powersoft is located in Concord Mass.

Sybase competes against ORACLE in the database market. Sybase had the
database product but they did not have the "tools" that went with it.
Powersoft sold the tools so that's why Sybase bought them, it was a
natural fit. Sybase should now compete more effectively against Oracle.

Well the takeover rumors persist, this time with a name
mentioned as the potential suitor. The name is un-other
than Microsoft! Look at that day high! Volume/#oftrades
	is around 37 shares/trade!?!?!?
