I am a first time noter, so please forgive me if this question isn't in the right place. I have a Finacial Planner trying to get me and my wife to invest a large sum of money into a Variable Annuity. This is an Insurance co.. "Integrity Life." We are in our mid fifty's and plan on retiering at 62. Questions: o are Annuitys a good investment? o aren't their fee's high? Also, I understand if one want's to get out of an Annuity, a high penalty is charged .. as much as 7% the first year, and a 1% drop for each year for the first seven years on the entire investment! I would appreciate any advice. Ron

> I have a Finacial Planner Is he really a Financial Planner, or does he just call himself that to disguise the fact that he's a salesman? (like the guy who visited me & my wife ;-) Read those other notes thoroughly; many of us have concluded that this is not a particularly good investment vehicle, and the commissions are mighty high.
