748.0. "MTI stock anyone ?" by ENQUE::TAMER () Thu Jul 28 1994 10:58
According to this week's DN&R, MTI stock is about $3-4, down from $9 at
the initial public offering in April.
Now, MTI seems to have copied our StorageWorks products with their
StorageWare line targeted for Open systems. That may give significant
boost to their $123M revenue stream.
Does anyone have information about MTI, their product quality, tips,
where the stock trades, symbol, etc.
All opinions and speculations are welcome!
Phil

| I guess you're talking about MTI Technology (MTIC) on the NASDAQ.
I'm not sure, but are they the large computer distributor based in California
that specializes in distributing mostly Digital products?
If so, I wonder if the drives you are speaking of are actually made by
IPL Systems in Maynard and then distributed by MTI under their own label?
I know IPL recently introduced some new "open" disk arrays and also recently
signed a distribution agreement with "MTI" among others.
IPL Systems is another interesting $4 stock you might want to check out.

| Check the article in the July 25, 1994 edition of Digital News & Review...
It seems that a group of shareholders have filed a class action lawsuit against
the company alleging fraud and misrepresentation in MTI's public offering.
