738.0. "THE best time of the year for TRADERS" by FREEBE::NEARY () Tue Jul 05 1994 12:44
A few days old but had no time to input last week ....
According to CNBC analyst John Murphy last week:
The BEST time of the year to TRADE (as opposed to long term investing)
is to BUY the day before the 4th of July holiday and hold for 4 business
days AFTER.
So this year you should have bought on last Friday and will sell this
coming Friday.
He had this report mid-last week.
Apparently it has to do with quarter-end, 6 months ending June 30,etc.
If you trade stocks be sure to allow for settlement.
