708.0. "European markets, Compuserve, Technical analisys " by ROM01::RUSSOGIU () Tue Mar 29 1994 08:36

Hi from Italy,

This conference is very interesting, I'am novice in this
argument but I want learn. I've some questions:

A) Exsist any other conference like this that discuss European markets,
funds, stocks, and economic trends ?

B) I've seen in this conference that is possible to do some
   transactions from compuserve.
What type of transactions are possible and how ?

C) Is available in easynet some (shareware) PC software for
technical analisys and portfolio management of stocks and funds ?

Thanks for any answer
Peppe

You might try some internet conferences like misc.invest.??? The FAQ
available on misc.invest is written by a student in Germany so
misc.invest is pretty international in it's audience.

PC software is usually available for a free 30 day trial. As an example
you pay the shipping and handling and after 30 days if the company
doesn't hear from you they will bill your credit card for the full
price of the software. Examples are Supercharts, Wealthbuilder,
Metastock, Telechart 2000, Windows on Wall Street.

Public domain stuff is available in the INVESTORS forum on Compu$erve.
I believe they have a portfolio manager public domain program called
PROF01 [?] which is shareware - if you like it you are obligated to pay
for it. Compuserve has expanded it's european business significantly so
you should be able to get a cheap link out of Rome. There are many more
conferences available on Compuserve which are not known to the US
subscribers - a lot of news, business stuff etc. is available in
    German.

If you are interested in the US market phone a US Securities dealer in
Rome - I'm sure companies like Paine Webber, Dryfus etc. have offices
there. They will send you information - probably all in English - on
how to give them your money.

But back to your original question...there might be an easynet
conference in Europe which we are unaware of here... and there are many
internet conferences... let us know how you make out.

More properly they are called 'newsgroups'. You need a news client on
your system to read them. CLO::VNEWS notesfile dicusses a client that
runs on a VMS system called VNEWS. Also, you will need to know the name
of a news server, these are typically listed in the notesifle
UPSAR::NEWS-BACKBONE in note 95.LAST.
