| 670.1 | I deduct it | KOALA::BOUCHARD | The enemy is wise | Fri Jan 28 1994 13:30 | 4 |
|  |     I don't know off-hand what line 20 is, but as a non-tax-lawyer I think
    it is reasonable to deduct it as a tax preperation expense -- It does
    50% of my taxes for me, so I deduct it along with the cost of Turbo
    Tax...

| 670.2 | WealthBuilder or MacInTax? | WIDGET::KLEIN |  | Fri Jan 28 1994 13:41 | 5 |
| | What about WealthBuilder? This helps select and manage investments, not
specifically do taxes? I imagine that MacInTax is also deductable by
that reasoning?

| 670.3 | Sounds deductible to me | KOALA::BOUCHARD | The enemy is wise | Fri Jan 28 1994 16:53 | 2 |
| | I'd assume a package like WealthBuilder would be deductible as an
    investment expense, rather than a tax preperation expense.

| 670.4 | You have to be self employed | ZENDIA::FLEMMING |  | Fri Jan 28 1994 18:37 | 3 |
| | Absolutely. And it can even make a difference if the expenses you
    include in lines 19 and 20 wind up being greater than 2% of your
    AGI.

| 670.5 | give another guy a break! | CSC32::K_BOUCHARD |  | Sat Jan 29 1994 13:48 | 5 |
| | Doesn't the IRS have some sort of limit as to TAX RETURNS it can audit?
    If it does,then I say great,claim that deduction. You can argue with
    the IRS and somebody else will be off the hook!

| 670.6 | Final version of MacIntax? | MKOTS3::MCLEAN |  | Wed Feb 02 1994 13:09 | 7 |
| | Speaking of MacIntax, I bought the "Head Start" package, and am
    currently waiting for the Final version to be sent, which I thought was
    going to be in late January. I have yet to receive anything. Has
    anyone else received the Final version of MacIntax yet?

| | I got the final version of Turbo Tax Fed-Exed to my house on
    24 January. I'm assuming that they are both made by Chip Soft.

    re: CA-Simply Tax update:

    I called CA and they said that the update has started shipping a few
    days ago. For reference, here are some numbers to contact them:

    	(800) 225-5224 (customer order number)
    	(516) DIALTAX  (support center)

| 670.12 | I haven't received it yet either | PASTA::WINDNAGLE |  | Fri Feb 25 1994 09:18 | 6 |
| | I called the 800 number and went through 2 levels of automatic menus
then got a message that said it was shipping and that everyone should
receive it within the next week. I'll be calling back if that doesn't
happen. Well, ok, I'll only complain if I don't get mine.
