There've been a few comments in Barron's of late; none of them
positive. The market cap/sales ratio is, or should be, intimidating
to anyone considering a new purchase.
In the words of one, if syringes had been found in Snapple instead of
Diet Coke, all their competitors would have copied them! :)

504.4 | Fad-ish | USCTR1::BJORGENSEN | Just another ASEL.... | Wed Jun 23 1993 11:10 | 7 |
| The Journal has also had a few comments over the past several weeks. The
comments were not exactly positive and suggested that it *could* be one
of those fads to stay away from. Personally, there are some other picks
out there that are better suited for my portfolio.

Dan Dorfmann of CNBC had this on his list of TO AVOID stock. He
mentioned that the stock was way over priced and is for a fall in next
couple of months. But then again in his words, that's one man's
opinion !

for a couple days when it was running up fast.

| Yes, it just split 2 for 1. I'm not certain of the exact price it
split at but I think it was somewhere around $70. It's IPO was I think
$19 about 6 months ago.

| NBR reported that there is significant concern about future earnings at
Snapple because of intense competition, especially in the iced tea area.

504.11 | Many more to choose from | ANOVAX::JWICKERT | Moe, Larry, the cheese! | Thu Jun 24 1993 23:00 | 7 |
| I stopped in the local beer distibutor last night and noticed a full
array of ice tea brands that I never saw before, showing that everybody
and their brother is jumping on the bandwagon. Maybe this is like the
wine cooler fad that fizzled after an initial jump in sales. I
appreciated all the inputs. Thanks.

Yet Another Data Point:
Barron's today, in their "Big Money" poll lists Snapple as one of the
favorite shorts of the big players.
Another article in Barron's describes big moves like this as bandwagon
moves where lots of folks jump on just before it goes over the cliff.
Look at the fundamentals as well as market emotion!

| WHAT'S THE OLD SAYING WHEN EVERYBODY IS NEGATIVE ITS TIME TO BUY!!!
JIM YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME ON THIS ONE.... THEY FIXED ALL THEIR
DISTRIBUTION PROBLEMS IN THE WEST COAST. WHEN THEY DID HAVE SHORTAGES
THEY MARKETED IT AS "THE GREAT SNAPPLE SHORTAGE". SALES INCREASED BY
NINEFOLD.. THERE IS A COUPLE OF LOCAL DISTRIBUTORS I FOLLOW THAT ARE
BOOMING WITH SNAPPLE PRODUCTS. THEIR MARKET IS NOT JUST ICED TEA.
MAYBE I'M PARTIAL, BUT SNAPPLE ICED TEA BLOWS AWAY LIPTONS OR NESTEA!!
STILL A BUY......
