| No sense creating a new topic for this so ....
FYI, most markets that will be open today (NYSE, NASDAQ) are having
a delayed opening today scheduled for 11am. And the news just in
is that the NYSE (and NASDAQ will likely follow suit) will also be
closing early at 2pm.
Some of the other markets are not opening at all today (some of
the commedities markets).
The Blizzard of '96 is taking it's toll ....
(the last time the NYSE delayed opening due to snow was back in
Feb. of '78 .....)

| What I don't understand is why NASDAQ ("license to steal") had
a delayed opening. They don't have a trading floor!

| CNBC speculated that because NYC houses most of the NASDAQ traders,
that they were having difficulty getting to their office/brokerage
to do any trading. The delay was to get more players on-line.
Just speculation last I heard.
