Heard on the npr radio news channel on the ride home about a week or so ago that Ames department stores(AMESV) is coming out out bankrupt after a long 32 months. Anyone have some opinions/suggestions on this particular stock? Thanks inadvance to all replies.

I live local to the company headquaters in Conn. They always seem to be announcing layoffs for one reason or another.. John | |||||
343.2 | Ames is closing some stores, and has been having some large sales | HDLITE::HORTON | Ken Horton, KA1GFN | Tue Jan 12 1993 13:42 | 10 |
As some additional info, they are in the process of closing some of their stores at this time. They have also been having some large sales at the stores which are not closing. My wife and I went to one in which everything in the store was from 30 to 70% off. They had similar one just recently as well. I don't know if this is good or bad as I have no further information on it but thought that it might be of interest. /Ken |
