| Has anyone successfully converted this DECalc grid to a DECdecision/CALC
spreadsheet? I have made the conversion successfully with other grids which
I have developed. But this one is much more complex than any I've converted.

| I did convert it and it works fine.
I had some problems though while customizing it: e.g. moving lines
around. It also pain to get 132 character printout. You have to
create .report or export to .txt file and painfully edit file.

| Hi - I just tried the new grid, and found a few problems - I'll try to
find the exact corrections for you tonite (I don't have my forms
handy), but....
o Happy news - I believe the Mass Tax rate is down from 6.25% to
5.95% (regular income), which means several lines have to be modified.
I'll recheck the directions tonite and try to find the lines in the AM.
o Line 622 seems to have an ERR....
o The limits for various tax brackets have changed, e.g., for
singles a limit of 20k-ish is now 21,450. Can cause part of income to
be taxed at too high a bracket unless changed. Correect figures are in
the old XYZ table section of tax directions.
Also, tables now have to be used for up to 100k, not 50k
Sorry not to be more precise.... but wanted to warn anybody doing a
quick grid check (the changes helped lower my tax).
Thanks for taking the first real stab at the new model - I'm sure it
will be heavily used!

HI
Over the weekend after I finished my tax with my accountant, I found
out that our spreadsheet has some bugs in it which are major enough to effect
your tax. The 28% tax bracket was not updated!!!
Please copy over the new TAX92.CALC$GRD from NOVA::SYS$PUBLIC: area and
update your tax before you file.
If you already filed, please check it again with the new grids.

1993 TAX Spread Sheet program is now available on NOVA::SYS$PUBLIC:
area called TAX93.CALC$GRD.
The following changes have been made for this year:
1. The income brackets for Tax Table rate
2. Standard deduction

Michael,
I don't know whether it is too late. The deadline for filing is
tomorrow! I just noticed an error in Schedule E in the file
NOVA::SYS$PUBLIC:TAX93.CALC$GRD, dated 1-Feb-1994.
The formula for cell E212 says:
SUM(E196)+E211
It should be
SUM(E196:E211)
