27.1 | Free Stock Quotes (in the Worcester, Mass. area). | LEDS::WILDING | Arthur, SHR 237-6353, Drive f/w eng. | Tue Jan 28 1992 21:46 | 19 |
| The following free stock quote system still works - you just need the ticker
symbol. If you already know how this system works, selecting 9500 gets you
the quotes without first listening to the help information suggested below.

-< Free Stock Quotes >-
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stock quotes may be obtained by calling the Worcester Telegram &
Gazette's Citiline number 508-792-9400. When the computer answers the
phone, you'll be asked to enter a number depending on the type of
information you want (they have a lot more than just financial
information). To get information on how to obtain stock quotes, enter
the digits 9501 (using a touch-tone phone, of course!). You can obtain
quotes from NY, AMEX, and OTC; they're updated about every half-hour.
Other types of information available on Citinet include: DOW JONES
averages, commodities reports, weather, humor, soap-opera info, etc.
Of course, you have to put up with some ads, but they're not too bad.

27.2 | *Free* Wall Street Stock Quote Service | DECEAT::SHAH | | Thu Feb 27 1992 14:19 | 13 |
| In the investing notes conference there was a mention of a tel. no.
where one can get quote information. The number was 508-792-9400
ext.9500. The main number is some kind of general information service.
I used to use this, but lately (last few months) I didn't use it, and
now even though the number seems to be working fine, I have forgotten
how to use it once you punch 9500 ! It asks for the symbol, but when I
punch in the symbol, I dont get the quote ! All I get is "next symbol" !
Can someone help ?
Thanks,
/Alkesh

27.3 | End with "*" (continue at note 27.1). | LEDS::WILDING | Arthur, SHR 237-6353, Drive f/w eng. | Thu Feb 27 1992 16:42 | 6 |
| This number is announced in #27.1 and maybe this should continue there.
In any case, as the HELP explains, type the ticker symbol and then end
it with "*" <-important! Type each letter with 2 buttons - the button
containing the letter and then 1, 2, or 3 (e.g., MOT is 616381*).
