480.0. "Intranet Browser DSS Tools, Alpha Server ?" by NZOV02::FARQUHARSON () Fri Apr 11 1997 03:34
Howdy,
I am currently helping out a team responding to an RFP for a
DataWarehouse opportunity. The RFP requires details on DSS tools that
can be used as skinny clients, particularly through use of Intranet/Internet
Browser technology. A tool that has been considered is Information Advantage,
however the server component does not run on Digital Platforms at this stage.
My questions are:
1) Are there any DSS tools currently on the market that support a skinny
client, and that run the server portion on Digital Hardware and
Operating Systems
2) What DSS tools are available at the moment that utilise
Intranet/Internet Browser technology as the front-end
thanks in advance for any replies
Colin...

| Check SAS tools,
They always had a thin client using a FAT SAS server.
I thing they demonstrate now Web enabled tools.
They run on Digital UNIX and VMS.
