Digital Equipment Corporation and Legato Systems, Inc. jointly conducted a
technology demonstration with assistance provided by Oracle Corporation and
StorageTechnology Corporation (STK) to measure the maximum backup transfer
rate currently achievable when backing up an Oracle database using Oracle's
Enterprise Backup utility (EBU), NetWorker Database Module for Oracle, the
DIGITAL NetWorker server, and DIGITAL UNIX, with STK's SD-3 RedWood tape
subsystem and the DIGITAL AlphaServer 8400 system.
