     THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS BY VINCENT D'SOUZA and MIKE STAHL
*******************************************************************************

We are pleased to announce the availability of a Customer Application specific
demonstation for the DIGITAL Data Mart.This would be made available to you soon
for your demand generation activities. Please read the description below:

Regards.

*****************************************************************************
Industry Application demo: Customer Segmentation Analysis in the Telecom
                            Industry.

The concept:
As a proof of concept for the execution of the DIGIATL Datamart, the NSIS team
in Valbonne jointly with the SBU-Telecom Expertise Center have used the
DIGITAL Datamart Service to create a real life Demonstration for the Telecom
Industry. The Datamart is concerned with customer segmentation analysis in
the Telecommunications industry.

The Scenario:
The Telecom provider, ServicePlus Telecom is concerned about it's
customer base; with increasing comptetition in the Telecom industry, the
company needs to retain it's customers by maximising their
satisfaction with it's services by ensuring it's services are
understood and easily purchasable. By segmenting it's customer base
using existing sales data, ServicePlus is able to target specific,
potential customer groups for take-up of new services and service
pacakages.

This demo can also be used for a Data Warehousing demand generation
events/activities since the applications scenario is similar for larger
Data Marts/Data Warehouses.At the same time it can also be used for other
industries (e.g. finance) since this type of application (Customer Information
Management/Sales&Marketing) is typical for many industries.

The demo:
The demonstration shows the mapping of transaction sales data
to the new Datamart structure, and the queries used by ServicePlus to isolate
specific customer groupings.

The Queries demonstrated are:

* Customer use of existing Service products
* Customer Classification
* Product Sales by Service area
* Which Services sell well together and to whom
* Customer retention period by service history
* Top Customers by amount billed
* Top customers by amount billed by Service products

Provided with the demo are:

*	SQL Server database backups
*	Installation script for the data and demonstration components
*	Business Objects Reports
*	Presentation of Business Context and Digital Datamart Solution
*	Full script of a customer walk-through of the demonstration
