its intent to support the IBM DB2 OLAP server, the product resulting from
the partnership and joint development work between Arbor Software
(NASDAQ:ARSW) and IBM.

Business Objects will support data access to IBM DB2 OLAP server from its
flagship product, BusinessObjects, the market's leading integrated query,
reporting, and OLAP tool. BusinessObjects will be able to access data
stored in IBM DB2 OLAP server and integrate it with a wide range of other
data sources, including:

-- Major relational databases such as DB2, Oracle, Informix,

Sybase, SQL Server, Red Brick, and others.

-- Personal data sources such as Excel spreadsheets, dBase, and

flat files.

-- OLAP servers including Arbor's Essbase and others.

-- Packaged application APIs (when available), such as SAP's

business API (BAPI).

Business Objects will participate in the beta program for IBM DB2 OLAP
server, scheduled for April of this year, and will support the final
product shortly after its planned general availability later this year.

interface between BusinessObjects and Arbor Essbase is currently in beta
testing. BusinessObjects has supported the DB2 family of products for
