Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRZM) announced today that it will resell the
Sagent(TM) Data Mart Solution and provide seamless integration of its meta
data into the Prism Warehouse Directory(TM). This capability will allow
users to control, manage and navigate information as data marts evolve
across an organization. The new PRISM/SAGENT Scaleable Data Mart is the
industry's only product that offers customers the best of both worlds --
the ability to quickly and economically develop data marts from warehoused
data, and the ability to start by building a data mart first and then scale
to a larger volume data warehouse over time.

The PRISM/SAGENT Scaleable Data Mart marks Prism Solutions' entrance into
the low-end data mart market, making it uniquely the only data warehouse
company that offers a complete end-to-end solution to meet customers'
diverse business and budget requirements. Prism now offers companies three
different options: the new low-cost product to build workgroup data marts,
a more robust solution to implement distributed data marts and department
warehouses, and an enterprisewide capability that supports multiple legacy
environments and complex integration.

Prism and Sagent will provide a seamless integration of meta data into
Prism's meta data directory, via Prism's CDIF standard interface. The
directory, which is like a card catalog, documents data in both business
and technical terms and stores changes, or new versions of data, created
over time as the data mart grows. This will allow users to understand and
navigate information in data marts created by the Prism/Sagent Solution
just as it does with warehouses created by Prism's other products.

Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRZM), today announced the formation of a new
worldwide services organization to provide data warehouse consulting,
product implementation and systems integration services to its customers.
The new group will be led by Nick Caffarra, Prism's vice president of
worldwide professional services, who has been promoted to the Prism
executive staff and will report directly to Warren Weiss, president and CEO
of Prism Solutions.

"Establishing a worldwide consulting organization will enable Prism to more
effectively support multinational customers implementing global, multi-tier
data warehouse architectures," said Weiss. "Prism's 1996 consulting
services more than doubled from 1995, indicating a growing need for
experienced data warehouse practitioners to guide these highly visible
projects. This move positions Prism to capitalize on the global market
opportunity for data warehouse services and underscores Prism's commitment

Gartner Group estimates that the worldwide market for data warehouse
consulting services will grow in excess of $1 billion by the year 2000.

Caffarra, who has been with Prism since 1995, will initially focus his
efforts on building a services organization in Europe that will be modeled
after Prism's highly successful North American consulting operation. Since
its inception, the U.S. consulting group has completed more than 100
engagements spanning all types of data mart and warehouse planning, design
and implementation projects. In addition, last year Caffarra's organization
developed, packaged and released the company's Iterations(TM) methodology,
which provides a detailed process roadmap for developing data marts and
warehouses in concise, repeatable steps. Iterations is based on Prism's six
years of proven experience in warehouse and mart implementation, making it
one of the most tested and complete data warehouse methodology available in

Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRZM), today announced a new release of its
Scaleable Data Warehousing Solutions packages for designing, building and
managing data warehouses and marts. The packages, which are based on the
Prism Warehouse Executive(TM) and Prism Warehouse Directory(TM) software,
now offer Windows NT 4.0 client support, new target database options for
Oracle Parallel Load and Microsoft SQL Server on NT, and support for IBM
DB2 Parallel Edition as both a source database and a server for a meta data
directory. Prism's Web Access module for data warehouse navigation and
access, and the Prism Schedule Manager module, are also available with this

According to Warren Weiss, Prism's president and CEO, "Today's mainstream
data warehousing initiatives require solutions that scale from distributed
marts on NT servers to enterprise-wide implementations on parallel
platforms. Along with this, an integrated meta data directory is necessary
to manage these broad deployments. Web-enabled access of the directory lets
a new class of users derive value from the warehouse. Prism is the only
data warehouse vendor with a broad enough solution to address all of these
diverse needs."

New Microsoft Coverage

Both Prism Warehouse Executive and Prism Warehouse Directory now run on
Windows NT 4.0, giving customers greater flexibility in choosing a
development platform that best suits their corporate standards and business
requirements. In addition, Microsoft SQL Server is available as a new
target database option, expanding Prism's selection of platforms for
departmental data marts. Now Microsoft users can gain a broader, enterprise
perspective of information by natively sourcing data from a myriad of host
databases and consolidating it onto their local NT SQL Server database.
Prism Web Access completes the solution by enabling navigation of the
warehouse directory using Microsoft Internet Explorer. By referring to the
meta data describing the contents of the warehouse, users can select
subsets of information to be delivered to their desktops for analysis with
tools such as Microsoft Access or Excel.

Complete IBM DB2 PE Warehouse Solution

Prism has enhanced its support for DB2 Parallel Edition as an end-to-end
solution for data warehouses and marts. DB2 PE is now available both as a
source database option and a server option for a meta data Information
Directory. In addition, customers can automatically target DB2 PE databases
and refresh them through the ability to process appends, overwrites and
updates. This complements Prism's already substantial offering for IBM
customers. Prism currently natively sources data from DB2, IMS and VSAM
databases on MVS systems, and from DB2/400 databases on AS/400 platforms,
to build a data warehouse or mart. Customers can use DB2 on MVS or DB2 PE
on AIX systems as the target database for their data warehouses and
associated meta data directories.

Additional Upgrade Option for Oracle

Prism now supports Oracle's Parallel Load capability, enabling high-speed
loading of Oracle target databases on HP, IBM, Sun and Digital UNIX
platforms. Single tables can be loaded via multiple concurrent SQL*Loader
sessions or in parallel from multiple data files. This new capability will
provide an easy upgrade path for the more than 50 percent of Prism's
customers who've chosen Oracle as the preferred database for their data
warehouses and marts.

Tandem Enhancements

Prism has extended its support for Tandem environments with direct reads of
NonStop SQL source databases, support for Enscribe lookup tables, and the
ability to map data from multiple source files into multiple NonStop SQL
tables in a single program.

Web Access Enables Intuitive Navigation and Access

With this release of its Scaleable Data Warehousing Solutions, Prism is
delivering a new Web Access module for the Prism Warehouse Directory. Prism
Web Access lets users access and navigate data warehouse meta data with
industry-standard Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft
Internet Explorer. Using the meta data to identify information for
analysis, they can then launch requests directly via the Web browsers to
download the desired information to their desktops. As a result,
organizations can provide low-cost data warehouse access to a broader range
of users without the need to train them in robust query and analysis tools.

Pricing and Availability

The new release of Prism's Scaleable Data Warehousing Solutions packages
will be generally available in June 1997. License fees range from $25,000
to $225,000 depending on source and target databases. The Prism Schedule
Manager option will be licensed for $7,500 and includes the Application
Services, which reside in the design, construction and planning
environment, and two sentinels. The Prism Web Access option is available
