I have a question about the usage of Roamabout products within the Hospitals in Europe. Do you know if there are any limitations to the usage of Roamabout products within Hospitals in your country? In Norway, usage of cellular phones (GSM) are prohibited inside the hospital. They operate at 900 MHz, while our Roamabout operates at 2400 MHz. The radio transmitter in the GSM-phones are also generating more Watts (up to 2 Watts?). Are there any rules we have to follow for the European Community? Norway is not part of the community, but we still makes up funny rules to adapt to the European Community rules. Bjrn Olav Haugom NPB, Norway

In France at the end of the last year the ministry of health have asked to a compagny (CNET) some tests about the possibility of pertubation in hospitals of all the wireless products. These tests have proved that in very little case you can have some pertubations with old medical products with GSM. Nothing for the wireless 2.4 Ghz (power 100 mW, roamabout product). Then the ministry have inform all the hospitals with these recommandations about this kind of possible pertubations. Thierry. |
