Hi,

Can anyone help. I have a customer who is in great need for the AIX 4.1.4 agent.
He is going live with a system very shortly and didn't realise that 4.1.4 wasn't
supported in PSW22. I have spoken to CA and they have agreed to lend him the AIX
4.1.4 agent until they order a copy of UniCenter for AIX and install it. Now
comes the hard part!

I understand that the 4.1.4 version of AIX agent was in Feild Test or Beta when
the product went over the wall. Was the agent ever finished, and if so, can I
have a pointer to it ?

If we sort this one out we could get the customer to buy a great number of
UNICenter/TNG licenses and keep them happy at the same time!

    In the next reply is a mail I recently sent to CA about the operating
    system versions support provided by PSW v2.3 FT...  That matrix is still
    valid as yet, but could be changed in a near future to add OpenVMS V7.*
    and possibly the AIX v4.1 you're awaiting.
    
    FYI, Originally CA was interested only in support for the Digital platforms
    (OpenVMS V6.*-V7.* and Digital UNIX V3.2*-V4.0*).  So CCS Technology never
    got the greenlight and funds to work on the AIX 4.1 support, and since we
    only had a PowerStation 365 running AIX 3.2.5, we only could upgrade
    the Agent targeted to that AIX version to the PSW V2.3 functionalities
    (e.g. added a couple of goodies such as the wildcarding on process
    names for the process missing events).  I would have liked and requested
    many times a PowerPC 601 or 604 based system and the AIX v4.1.4
    distribution in order to perform tests and adaptations possibly required...
    I hope it will come true in a near future, so that we would be able to
    synchronize deliverables reality with marketing announces ;-)

VMS VAX 	6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1          (6.0 retired; not yet ported to 7.*)
VMS Alpha	6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1                       (not yet ported to 7.*)
DUNIX		3.2, 4.0              (older versions not tested, since retired)
HP-UX		8.0.7, 9.0.0, 10.0
IBM AIX		3.2.5     (4.1 expected but not worked on since the HW/SW lacks)
SunOS		4.1.1 Sun4c         (may support 4.2, 4.3 as well. To be tested)
Sun Solaris	2.3, 2.5
