Saw an ad for this movie on the TV at the gym this morning. Something to do with people battling robot worm things that skim under the surface of the ground. Looked like a video game, big on effects, short on story. During the 2 seconds that credits were on screen, I saw "by Philip K. Dick". Anybody know anything more? The only story of his that comes to mind is "Autofac", except in that story the self-replicating robots had killed off all the people and were engaged in never-ending battle against each other, too dumb and single-minded to know the war was over.

Sounds similar to "Tremors", except for the robot part.

Chances are the resemblence between the story and the film will be as tenuous as the connections between "Do Androids..." and Bladerunner" or "We Can Remember It..." and "Total Recall." andrew

"Screamers" according to the TV ad, is based on the PKD short story "Second Variety." andrew |
