| I recall a "name" producer, I just can't recall the name.

| Was that _this_ one? I do remember seeing some ads for some TV SF by
F.F.Coppola a while back, but I thought it was for a made-for-TV movie.
Anything on the newsgroups?
(I'm going to be out of the US on a business trip around then, and
want to program the VCR accordingly.)

| Hmmm... Now I'm confused; just saw another ad, and it said 'motion
picture premiere'. I could have sworn the other ad said series...
Well, that'll make programming the VCR for my absence simpler :-)

| Hey, neat. I'm arriving *in* the US on 22 May, so for a change I'll
actually get to see something I read about in here.
Any more info about this? Made for TV movie? Series pilot?

| Re: .4
Pilots are sometimes announced as motion pictures (of the made-for-TV
variety), and of course they're premieres. Perhaps they're trying to
make it more of an event.

| I thought the movie was quite well done and interesting...
They've put together a rich tapestry for a series.
BTW, I saw reference to FOX having a new unnamed SF series this fall
in one of the newsgroups; I suspect this is it...

Saw it, it felt a bit Jack Vance-ish to me (which is a feature).
My only "oh come on" reaction was repeated reference to songs that
would have been what, two thousand years old by then?; a bit difficult
to imagine why just songs from the 20th century would be so nostalgically
popular.
Still, much better than a lot of other TV fare under the SF rubric.
