1179.1 | followup (s) to Drangon's Dawn, I think... | QUARRY::petert | rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty | Wed Oct 20 1993 13:38 | 7 |
| While not having seen the book myself, I saw a cover in one of the SF
mags in Barnes & Noble. From the look of it, I think it was something
like the Pern chronicles. Basically seemed to be picking up the
story of the colonists after Dragons Dawn. Might be wrong, but that
seems like the most fertile ground for McCaffery to explore.

1179.2 | "First Fall" (you can probably guess 'of what?') | QUARRY::petert | rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty | Wed Oct 20 1993 18:13 | 9 |
| Little bit more info after checking the bookstore while I went out on
a much needed gas run ;-)
The title is I believe, "First Fall", and subtitled "The Chronicles of Pern".
The assumption I had made earlier, about being related to DragonsDawn,
is correct. This is a collection of short stories, rather than a novel.
Two of the stories, "The Pern Survey" (? or something along those lines) and
"Rescue Run" have been printed before in SF mags. Looked interesting.

1179.3 | Another new Pern book out. | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | petert | Mon Jan 27 1997 15:48 | 10 |
| I think it is called "Dragon Star". But it should be easy
enough to locate even if it's called something else. From the
brief glance I took at it, it covers the time of the 2nd pass.
257 years after the first landing, so the Dragon's haven't gotten
to the size we see them during F'Lar and Lessa's time, but
bigger than the first ones we saw in Dragon's Dawn. Hardcover
of course.
