I've read Megan Lindholm's "Alien Earth". Thought it was pretty good though drawn out. The writer develops the interplay between like minded alien and human mind very well. Anyway it's another good twist as to how the earth would end up and how humans would revist it thousands of years later. Opinions? J

A reasonable first novel, I thought, although it took forever to get to the earth. How much proof did we need that these aliens were unpleasant? Also, it was never clear why people put up with the Conservancy and their plans for a low-impact humanity. Alien maninpulation only counts for so much - people must really have wanted to become stunted and sterile. /jlr | |||||

Re .1 This is not her first novel, though it may be her first sf novel. She has written several fantasies, including WIZARD OF THE PIGEONS and CLOVEN HOOVES, and the recent collaboration with Steven Brust, THE GYPSY. Andrew |
