"MAIDEN FLIGHT" by Eric Vinicoff was one of the best books I ever
read. It was about post atomic war life aboard huge blimp like
cities that circled the world at high altitudes. These cities
were mans latest means of surviving a world left inhospitable both
by radiation and maurauding survivors. The story was cast around
a young female stowaway who kept getting herself in tough perdicaments
while also being responsible for heroic activities. Vinicoff does well
in describing the characters emotions and intent and left me itching
to get to the end. The book was inspirational and left me wanting to
read more of his work. Unfortunately, I haven't run across any.

Yes, I have. He's not written any other novels, but he's had *scads*
of short stories (written alone or with Marcia Martin) published
over the last 15 or so years, mostly in ANALOG. Many of them are
set in the same milieu, in which a large part of Europe has formed
into a single nation called Noreuropa. Most of these involve Noreuropan
intelligence agents Gunnar Einersson and/or Hans Bergenholm.
I remember being very favorably impressed by the first Vinicoff &
Martin story I read, "Swiss Movement", in a 1976 issue of ANALOG (if
memory serves, it was their ANALOG debut). It was a nicely done story
that reveals why Switzerland has been able to maintain its neutrality
for centuries despite dreams of empire on the part of many a European
state.
The only other "book" I've run across is called SPACING DUTCHMAN,
featuring Gunnar Einersson. It was published by a small press, and
is really just a novelette published as a saddle-stapled booklet.
