1007.0. "What Ever Happened to James Bond?" by SFCPMO::FOX () Wed Jul 31 1991 18:24

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but many of the
stories are of an escapist/fantasy nature.

WHAT'S TO COME OF JAMES BOND??

I've heard there's some sort of legal battle for the selling of Cubby's
rights to the character. Also that a new adsventure is being filmed,
obviously back in his old job from his "License to Kill" vendetta. The
first film to not be based on a novel, have a dark-"realistic"-violent
tone and not to do as well at the box office...

Any info? Also I hope Daltry doesn't get as corny as in "Rocketeer"...

No, this isn't the right place to discuss this. While some of the
Bond films stray into the field of science fiction (like YOU ONLY
LIVE TWICE and MOONRAKER), and the series as a whole does seem, in
varying degrees, to depend on "super-science", I think it's a little
    too peripheral for this conference.

You'd be better off taking this to EOT::MOVIES. Topic #93 there is
    a generic "James Bond" topic.

(And by the way, it's Dalton, not Daltry.)

Speaking of which, Jerry, what ever happened to the "Who?"
Gee, I really loved their movies and albums...

p.s. Actually, "Thunderball" was the first Bond movie not based upon a book.
Ian Fleming wrote the screenplay, then the book.
