I don't know of any ROCKY HORROR conference, but there's a topic
on the film in EOT::MOVIES (Topic #174). There might well be one
on the stage show in MEIS::THEATRE as well.

| Rocky Horror is many things, but it isn't SF. Please, don't copy the
text into this conference.

| Well, *I* would say it falls into the scope of this conference,
as much as any film or play with sfnal elements, and I wouldn't
(as a moderator or noter) mind seeing it discussed here, though
I'd be much happier if such discussion stuck to the stage show
or film themselves and didn't delve into audience participation
triviata.

| No, not the complete script. Among other things, it would fall under
violation of copyright.

Rocky horror is Definitely science-fiction. It includes (amongst other
things) time travel, creation of living beings, intergalactic travel,
and anti-matter.
What's your problem?

With or without spoilers, could you show where RHPS has time travel,
intergalactic (as opposed to just interstellar) travel, and anti-matter?
I thought I was familiar with the movie, but I missed these...
Thanks in advance.

| Well, there was at least space travel of a sort. Don't forget...
<spoiler>
that Frankenfurter, Riff and Magenta were from the city of Transylvania
on the planet of Transsexual! (or something like that)

Time travel: "Rocky Horror, you need peace of mind/I want to tell you
that you're doing just fine/You're the product of another time/So
feeling low, well that's no crime/That ain't no crime..."
Intergalactic travel: as the other noter mentioned, they all came from
the galaxy of Transylvania.
Anti-matter: the gun that Riff-Raff used on Frank was pure antimatter.
Anyway, is everyone telling me there's NO conference about The Show?

1004.12 | Against Rocky Horror? Nothing -- Against huge files? Lots | VMSMKT::KENAH | The man with a child in his eyes... | Wed Jul 31 1991 20:04 | 12 |
| re .7:
My problem was this:
Note 1004.2 volunteered to post the entire script of the film in this
conference. Totally ignoring the fact that it's a violation of
copyright laws, I object to someone posting a huge file in a conference
(as opposed to posting a pointer, as Jody did).
As you can see, the offer (and the response) have disappeared.

| the offer for sending out copies of the script has been yanked too. I
guess it might be copyright infringement to distribute a script (even
though it's an unofficial script), and I certainly don't want to get
Digital in trouble.
I got it off the net, though, and if you wanted a copy you could
probably post a query to the net and someone outside DEC could send it
to you.

there will be a double feature of "Heavy Metal" and "The Rocky Horror
Picture Show" at the Worcester Artist Group, in Worcester, Massachusetts,
Friday night January 31st.
I believe the double feature will play once at 8 p.m. - recommended
donation is something like $5. I have heard they may play the double
feature again at midnight - please call for more information on this:
508-754-0545.
Very Rough directions as follows:
Take 290 to Lincoln Street (290 crosses Lincoln Street (rte 70) twice
in Worcester). If you're on Lincoln Street heading from Lincoln Plaza
towards Worcester Center, you will see a road come in to the right at a
set of lights *after* Hahnemann hospital and burncoat street. The road
is "Harlow Street". Take Harlow Street until it takes a 90 degree left
turn. The warehouse along the road just before that corner houses the
Worcester Artist Group on the second floor. For more thorough
information, Please call.
