It focus's directly on America today, but Satire is on us.
The people, because without the benifit of Alien signals

i enjoyed it since i really expected rowdy roddy piper to make a
complete ass of himself, he did a good job of acting, a nice b flick.

i think john carpenter was having some fun also, the last 2 scences
of the film when piper destroyed the tv signal that made the aliens
look human. there was a tv commentator putting down directors who
show too much sex in their films. he mentioned carpenter's name,
the very next scence a human woman was mounted on an alien while
watching the commentor on tv, the tv signal that made them look human
went off and she saw what her partner in lust really looked like!
talk about cotus interuptus!
