I am looking for a copy (old or new, hardcover or paperback) of
James Thurber's "The Thirteen Clocks". It's a kind of tongue-in-cheek
fantasy fairy-tale, not too long and certainly not complex, but
highly entertaining.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? (I don't think it's
in print anymore...I've combed all the bookstores I know...)
thanx-
-Jody

Did you try any distributors??? That's what I do when I need a
hard-to-find or all-too-popular-to-be-in-stock book. Also, at
Waldenbooks, they've been very helpful to me in looking up various
titles on microfilm, then ordering them from wherever they can.
Hope it helps.

I think the story in question is a short story or novellette, is
it not? If so, try visiting a good public or college library and
checking the Short Story Index to find the title of anthologies
that contain the story. It's hard to find it otherwise, even for
distributers and booksellers. Once you know some anthologies that
contain the story, then check with those other sources to get one
of the anthologies. (Books in Print lists about 20 still available,
but you can't tell from the titles whether "Thirteen Clocks" is
included.)
Hope you find it!
