| Spellsinger has 2 sequels (so far)---both basically battles
against the Plated Folk. Unfortunately I can't recall the
titles offhand (maybe I'll remember to check tonight). I
don't think either are better than the first, but neither
are worse. Not fantastic, but entertaining and amusing...
at least so far, Foster's doing better at light fantasy than
Anthony (Xanth).
By the way, welcome back...

| THE SEQUELS TO SPELLSINGER ARE "HOUR OF THE GATE" AND "DAY
OF DISSCONCE" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I THINK THERE MIGHT BE
AN OTHER BOOK TOO.
THERE IS NO LIGHT FANTASY BETTER THAN THE XANTH BOOKS, BUT
ROBERT ASPRIN'S "MYTH ADVENTURES" COME CLOSE.

| RE .1 -- If Sam doesn't know how he got into the file, how's he going
to get back into it to see your reply telling him to send you mail asking
how to get to the file? :-)

| As .3 said, the second and third books are HOUR OF THE GATE and THE
DAY OF DISSONANCE. The reason that SPELLSINGER ends without ending
isn't so much that there are sequels, but that SPELLSINGER and HOUR
OF THE GATE are actually two halves of one book that was originally
published by a small press as SPELLSINGER AT THE GATE.
There is a fourth book, MOMENT OF THE MAGICIAN that has yet
to appear in paperback, and there is a fifth one due from the same
small press (Phantasia Press) that did the hardcover of the other
books. I don't recall the title off-hand, but I can look it up when
I get home. I have a flyer for it somewhere.

| Was thinking about you the day before you created your note. Being a
relative newcomer to this file, I have been reading old notes when I get
the chance. Read the Destroyer note; if you have become/are still hooked
I have acquired a few titles (#s 4, 17, & 34). They are a little dog-eared,
but have covers & are readable: in good condition for their age.
If you want 'em, tell me where to send 'em (I O M, of course).
Don
P.S. If Sam says "Thanks, but no thanks", first come, first serve ....

| By the way, the title of the newest Spellsinger book (only in limited
edition hardcover at this point) is THE PATHS OF THE PERAMBULATOR.
