I don't believe it's appropriate to add a reply to a series of replies
that collectively comprise the "book."

I first read "The Enchanted Duplicator" in the mid 1950s when I was in
high school.  It had (and has) a great deal of charm; however, the most
intriguing thing about it is that (like a lot of fan activity ["fanac"
to the initiated] for that matter) is very inbred.  By this I mean that
someone *not* acquainted with "fandom" and its remifications could read
through practically the entire documentwithout having an inkling that
it was related to SF.  Indeed, the fans of my youthful acquaintence were
horrified at the thought of talking about the boks and other literary
matters when they got together.

Without knocking "The Enchanted Duplicator" as a work, it's instructive
to compare its contents with the other notes of this file.
