| Sounds like a great idea to me! Since I have never attended one of these
things before, I am not sure how we would find the Notes hackers. I also
wouldn't recognize any of you, since the only way we ever communicate is
via the network. Any ideas on how we could get it together?

| I was thinking about having a tee-shirt printed which says
NACHO::CONLIFFE
Also (dare i say it) DEC Badges could be worn

| SF-LOVERS once proposed wearing badges with an at-sign on them.
You could get buttons with two colons. Just four dots in a
square to the un-enlightened.

| It was I who started this nasty rumour, and it is I who intend to have a
gathering of notes-types in my hotel room, Saturday night, about 2030.
Now, the problems are these:
1. I will be staying on a quiet floor (I'm working on the Boskone committee)
so I can't have a "party" that is loud.
2. I don't know what room I'll be in, but I will by about 4pm today, and I'll
annotate it here (or someone will do it for me).
3. I'm sharing a room with a friend and his two sons, ages 10 and 8.
So,
Please come. Please use judgment if you are going to bring someone who doesn't
work for DEC; there will probably be lots of "internal" talk.
I will supply some beer and munchies, but, of course, contributions of same
will help.
If you feel this conflicts with some other party, remember, you don't have to
stay in one place all night.
If it gets too loud, we'll get closed down. Maybe some kind soul will help
move the group to another room.
Please come.
Maybe we'll find out that a mojority of Boskone-goers are DECies! (I doubt it.)
When you register for the convention, look for me in the Registration area, and
say hello.
Dave C. (<== my Boskone registration tag says that)

| Just to keep it in the family, if the party gets to noisy, I'm the one who
gets to shut it down. (Gee I could shut down the party and then give the
TECO talk to an empty room.)

| Dave Cantor asked me to pass on the following information:
1. His party will be in Room 591 at 20:30 Saturday evening.
2. The fifth floor is a quiet floor in the hotel. So party noise
should be kept to a minimum.

The BOF party has been moved (already) to room 406 (larger and not in the
'quiet zone'.) Same time: Saturday @ 2030.

| RE 28.4 There's still a good chance that you may get your wish. The ATLANTA
bid for the 86 World Con is still very much in the running and gaining
strength (as the others have their problems.) When it happens you can
host the BOF session, OK?

| Twenty or so people showed up, but I didn't think to record names.
Not everyone there was from DEC.
We had a good time, talked about network security, drank bheer, and generally
slung the bullshit until about 2am.
Brons, of course, didn't show up to give his TECO talk.
It was nice to meet you who showed up in person.
Who's going to do it at Lunacon?

| Lunacon will happen March 16-18 this year, in the Sheraton Heights hotel in
Hasbrouck (sp?) Heights, New Jersey. It is run by the Lunarians (the New York
(city) SF society), hence the name. I remember it as being about half the
size of Boskone, or maybe a bit smaller than that.

I'm in Hotlanta and the con is in August here. Maybe the southern hackers can
meet. And (being from NJ originally) it's nice to be treated like a
'southern bell'. The flowers in Feb. are great too, but how long can
one survive hayfever (oops time for a refill of the alergy medicine)?
