988.0. "Help for EventID:9500 in NT event log" by PEARS::JOERG_S () Mon Jan 27 1997 04:26
I am looking for an explanation for some entries in the
NT event log and hope someone here can help me. I have
already looked in COMET(Notes,Stars) but with no success.
The customer system is a ALPHA 2100, NT 3.51 German SP5,
PATHWORKS NT 4.1B.
Symptoms:
When using NCP and doing a SHOW whatever COUNTERS or
SHOW KNO NODES, this generates about 15-20 error entries
in the NT event logger of the following:
Event ID: 9500 Source: PATHWORKS Sockets
Trace: recv(1,0012D4D0,336,0)
or
Trace: send(1,0012D620,336,0)
or
Trace: recv returning, received_len=336 error=0
all entries with the same time stamp, or max 1 sec
difference.
The system is running normal, DECnet counters look ok
(response timeouts 36 in 4000 sec may me a little bit
too high) but the customer has concernes about the tons
of log entries, until there is a good explanation for it.
I appreciate any help
joerg
