Hi, One of my customers has a problem with Admin/pathworks looping. The logon screen is displayed and then characters continuously appear in the User Id field. Cpu goes up to 100% and ^Y is the only way out. These input characters appear to be coming from somewhere else in the system - apart from apparently random characters there are meaningful strings too (e.g. names). The last time I tried this, there were lots of strings containing RTS, CTS, DSR etc and the user has just been running a protocol analyzer which uses these in report headings. I have checked all the UAF quotas against another system where admin/pathworks is OK - nothing obvious. The system is running VAX V7.1 and Pathworks V6. Any ideas please? The user solved this problem himself. For info, in his SYLOGIN.COM he had defined TT as a disk/directory. That also contained several versions of the file .; from which the pathworks/admin input was coming. Paul [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] |
