251.0. "pspapath environment variable" by KERNEL::NICHOLSONA (one suite too many can cause truth decay) Wed Feb 26 1997 07:05

    Hi,

Alpha 1000 - ruble..3.2g of digital unix.. collector only.. v3.0-7
alpha 2100 klingon 3.2g of digital unix... advisor v3.0-7

just set this up for the first time...

Customer is trying to select a period of time to analyze files
from the dxadvise gui interface on the unix box.

He is able to look at klingon cpd files ok but he has
customize the database path for ruble cpd files to
local_disks/disk1/remote_psdc/ruble/db. When you fire yp dxadvise
you can see that the path points to local_disks/disk1/remote_psdc...etc.

However when he tries to select data for analysis for ruble this
     returns

w: selection is missing for selected time period.

If he copies the cpd files for ruble to the default database area
/var/opt/PSDC/dc/db/ he is able to select the data and question and
analyze them successfully. So we know the files are ok. He gets the
same error if he tries to use the command line interface and
specify the location of the database files.

I tried getting him to set the environment variable pspapath and this
     did not help either.

     Can anybody assist with this?

     Thanks Avril
