2254.0. "Pnv doesn't start with security ON" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (Francisco Rodriguez) Tue May 27 1997 05:30

Hello all.
I've a problem with a customer installation. Maybe some of you have a happy
idea:

Description:

Digital UNIX 4.0 B, PNV 4.1 C, DCE 2.0

I'm logged with user root and I have the security turned ON. I have several
pnv users defined.

When I start pnv, all works fine, no matter which pnv account I use for login.
When I use an UNIX account other than root, I can see the pnv login window,
and I can read the message "User xxxx sucessfully logged on" (or something
like
this), but after that, pnv doesn't start, and I receive the following message:
------------------------------------------------------------------
ERROR gss authentication gssapi.c

Couldn't retrieve default login context.

nvs_isClientAuthorized(): permission denied for "ovw_binary"

Could not initialize the security context with the target machine
-------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no other management stations (server nor client) in the customer's
network.

When security is turned OFF I can start pnv from a nonroot account without
problems.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance

Francisco Rodriguez
