A quick query.... A customer is undergoing a merger of departments and has both OpenView and NetView. Seems like OpenView is winning in terms of being "top dog" platform due to coverage etc. Question is : can NetView continue to look after the Digital environment but keep the OpenView system in step by forwarding TRAPS etc. ? I'm aware of the Client/Server capabilties in Netview/TME on UNIX and wonder if this works (even partially) with OpenView ? A quick response is needed if possible. Thanks Rog

The short answer (on forwarding traps) is YES. You might have to manually go into Netview's event customization--> trap definition (or whatever its called, I don't remember the proper menu strings) and add the forwarding for each individual trap you want to send. I don't think OpenView has a remote client GUI interface, unless they've added it recently. |
