Note 2217.0 WHERE ARE WE GOING???? No replies

Well, the official word on netview and tme/10 has been posted here, but
so far, we haven't talked about how we are going to support tme/10
when our engineering group is gone.
I do know that Tivoli engineering will not be participating in this
conference, so we're on our own with it. Likely, we will have to
eventually move it to another node. When that time comes, I can
moderate it, and it can at least be used as a forum for us to help
each other when we can.
What I DO know:
Escalations to engineering will be done through IBMlink on a limited
access basis.
Details of that are still being worked out. I will post the procedure
here in this note when I get it.
Aside from that, Tivoli appears to have a fairly large engineering staff
in place, BUT they expect that we will troubleshoot any problems down
to failing module level before we escalate......
ie: they do not appear to be overly receptive to "how to" type of
questions. (I think their words were "We don't DO how tos").
Training is still being addressed. As soon as I hear anything (or if
anyone else does), perhaps we can start a string on training and post
dates etc. in there.
I will keep you posted on whatever I do find out. If you have any
questions/concerns/comments/ideas/opinions please feel free to post
them here and I will take them to my next meeting with Tivoli.
FWIW, I did install the TME/10 kit I just got in the mail. The install
is uneventful and looks just like 4.1c (which it IS!). The only real
difference on startup, the copywrite box no longer says DIGITAL in it.

| Cathy-
Thanks for posting this summary.
I would just add that while there will no longer be a Digital engineering
group in the escallation process we do expect to have some folks here
at "corporate" monitoring the notes conference, and helping out with
the "how to" questions.
