DPU has approved a plan to add the two new area codes to eastern Mass
in the traditional way, not as overlays.
Plan takes effect in May of 1998.
617 splits in two circumferentially around Boston,
508 splits along an east-west line basically north of the Mass Turnpike.
All in all, better than an overlay, even considering that my area code
will change from 508 while the next town to my south won't.
Hey, I have to dial all those digits anyway....
