Conference noted::motorcycle

    It's tire time again..
    
    I'm replacing the tires on my 84, KZ700 again.
    
    I have been running Dunlop D401's front and rear. After checking
    around, I've found they no-longer offer this tire in "both" of my
    sizes.. They still offer the front, but not the rear???
    
    So, I'm looking at a pair of Dunlop 591's 
    or Metzeler ME33 Comp K (Front) and ME55A (Rear)..
    
    
    Anyone running these, I've never has Metzeler's on my bikes, so I'm
    looking for inputs from anyone who have used 591's or Metzeler's
    
    
    I'm planning to retire my KZ in ~2yrs. So high mileage is not a
    concern. I spend lots (most) of the time on RT2/495  and the Turnpike,
    Along with occasional weekend secondary road rides.

    I've tried most tyres over the years and I'm a Metzeler fan.
    They grip well, wear well and are nice and progressive, not giving any
    of those 'falling off the edge' feelings.. Bit pricey perhaps but I
    recommend them.

I ran this exact combination (Metzeler ME33 Comp K (Front) and ME55A (Rear))
on my old RZ350 and loved them. Far more traction than I could even use and
pretty good in the rain to boot.

The only downsides were tire life and price.

    I've used the me33/me55 combination and the k591 on a katana 1100.
    I stuck with metzeler for years but mostly because they lasted longer
    then the k591s. The k591 are stickier tires and seem to work better 
    when pushed hard.
    	
    Since I can no longer get a good deal on the me33 tires and through
    mail order the dunlops are so much cheaper I switched to the k591
    on the Concours.
    
    I wished the tires on the Concours would last two years.
