1311.0. "system version mismatch, please relink" by KERNEL::FREKES (Like a thief in the night) Tue Apr 22 1997 07:53

Folks

I have a customer who has upgraded from 6.2 on his alpha to 7.1.
When attempting to start LAT he is getting the message

system version mismatch, please relink

Has anybody seen this before. I would have thought if you were upgrading VMS
you would not have a choice and lat would be upgraded at the same time.

Any input is greatly appreciatted.

Exactly with what command do you get this error?

Any lat images in sys$specific?

As soon as he tries to start LAT, using LAT$STARTUP.

Can you try to run the startup with verification enabled. That way you will
know exactly what image is giving you this error.

The startup is afiling when lat$config attempts to load the LTDRIVER.
    The LTDRIVER is dated may-1995.

As the customer has two identical systems, and one of the upgrades
worked, and the other didn't, he is going to copy the LTDRIVER from the
working systemm, and see if this gets around the problem. I am a little
surprised that this did not get updated durring the upgrade.

I will let you know how this goes. Let me know if you have anything
    further to add on this.

Just spoken to the customer, and somone had made a copy of the ltdriver
and put it in sys$sysroot. Ofcourse this one was loaded first,
    and caused the version mismatch.

Deleted this one and the correct one from sys$common was loaded.

    Thanks for the advice.
