I have been asked a question by a friend of mine who is a Ph.D. student at Cornell University that I can't answer. I hope you will be able to help me in this conference (if I should post this somewhere else, please let me know). He is running a bunch of etherneted Sun workstations running Unix and a 750 running VMS. Is it possible to perform backups from the Suns to the VAX? If so, what software (or hardware) is needed to accomplish this? Has this been done before? Thanks in advance for your help, Alfred

I thought I read that SUN had implemented DECnet PhaseIV protocolson their systems - if so, there may be an easy way. You'd do well to ask your friendly SUN salesperson :-) Dave |
