    		does anyone know how to change the protection code
    	on a received mail message?  i need to delete some mail that
    	i have renamed, and i have one mail message that has a dcl
    	program that i want to use, but the protection won't let 
    	me.

	If you are refering to the MAIL$()&#$&^(#$^#@$.MAI files, why not simply SET FILE/PROT=O:REWD? However, if you change any of these mail files, you'll confuse the hll out of mail. Perhaps you want to EXTRACT from mail? It really isn't clear from your note what you want to get done.
