293.0. "Announcing: Battle of the Languages" by JUNIPR::DMCLURE (Vaxnote your way to ubiquity) Fri Aug 22 1986 18:03
I would like to announce a programming language comparison study
I am conducting in the TLE::LANGUAGES notesfile. The purpose for the
study, along with the program specification for the resulting entries
to this comparison are posted in note #99 (Battle of the Languages)
in the languages conference.
In order to get as many different types of languages as is possible
to all respond to this, it is hoped that strategies of each particular
language program can be worked out here (as replies to this note within
each language-specific notesfile), while final entries (hopefully only
one per language), along with resulting disscussions, etc., will appear
in the TLE::LANGUAGES notesfile.
Please refer to the TLE::LANGUAGES notesfile, note #99, "Battle of
the Languages" for more information. We'll all be awaiting the resulting
program listings, have fun!

p.s. Just in case some of you haven't already seen this announcement,
I thought I'd post it here as well. I figure that if I can't find
closet hackers in the CLOSET::HACKERS notesfile, then I'm just not
going to find them anywhere.
