209.0. "EOJ cliroutine = LOGOUT command?" by VAXUUM::DYER (Jym << _n_!) Mon Feb 24 1986 09:49

Bad craziness in CLI land: If you redefine the LOGOUT
command, the EOJ command will apparently execute the new
LOGOUT command!

VMS version? And what does SHOW COMMAND say about the EOJ command?

V4.3 here points EOJ at CLIroutine EOJ, and it ignores any LOGOUT
symbol.

V4.2, but I'm talking about actually redefining the LOGOUT
command in your CLI tables. SHOW COMMAND shows that EOJ still
calls the EOJ cliroutine, but it acts as if I had typed the
(newly-defined) LOGOUT command.

Ah, now I get it. Sure does look like the EOJ routine just invokes the
LOGOUT command, doesn't it. Same thing on V4.3.

SET COMMAND/DELETE=LOGOUT, followed by EOJ, complains about "error
parsing 'FULL'" and "not found in tables", followed by process deletion.
This does emulate LOGOUT, I suppose.

Good thing STOP/ID=0 still works

SHOW COMMAND comes from the Toolshed - very handy, I use it freqently
(faster then help if you just need a quick hint on syntax :-).

The save set is SHC003.A, it my be listed as SHC in toolshed...Ken

Visit the ToolShed Notes catalog on METOO::SW_TOOLS_CATALOG and read
the introductory notes to learn how to use it. Look up tool SHCOMMA for
the description and installation kit of SHOW COMMAND.

Be advised, however, that installing it requires privs. on your
system.

   Press Select/KP7 etc....

With a little work you can install this privately. If you need some
help with that, let me know.
