	Hello,

From many years I was listen about SALVAGE utility for recover data
	from a corrupted disk.

In my case, the customer have an Alpha 8400 and a mirror units disks,
connected with a KZPSA, and for a possible hardware problem missing
	files for a mirror units.

After try to recover information from a ANA/DISK/REPAIR, after make
a directory file like a non directory file don't recover files.

Somebody know where I can obtain the salvage kit???

The situation is very critical and a customer is one of the most
	important customer here in Spain.

And if you ever need a similar utility for AdvFS on Digital UNIX (aka
    OSF/1) see below:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As has been mentioned in the advfs notesfile, the folks out in DEC West are
developing a salvage tool for AdvFS domains. As the result of a serious customer
situation I developed an experimental tool to salvage AdvFS domains.
While the knowledge gained from this tool is being incorporated into the work
plan, the need for salvage exists, and we need a better understanding of the
various ways that AdvFS domains can get corrupted.
We would like to offer our help in attempting to recover corrupted file systems
while gathering data for the future tool. Given resource constraints, we may
not be able to accommodate all comers, but we will do our best.

For more details, contact either myself ([email protected]) or Alex Hewitt
from USEG ([email protected]). We hope that this will enable us to start
helping customers while gathering valuable data for the future.

A few up-front requirements:
a) The affected disks should be connected to a machine that we can login to as
root.
b) Extra disk space for recovery (20% over the files to be recovered) should be
available.
c) NDA's by customers.
